Sunflower Seeds Quietly Outperform the Nuts on Vitamin E

If you've read the almond page on this site, you already know almonds are a strong vitamin E source. Sunflower seeds actually beat them. I didn't expect that when I looked it up, and I don't think most people would guess it either.

Almost 70% of a day's vitamin E from one ounce is a real number, not a marketing one. Selenium shows up here too, which is a mineral that doesn't get much airtime but isn't common in a lot of everyday foods.

I use them mostly for how they round out the seed mix - they're smaller and lighter than pumpkin seeds, so they fill in gaps between the bigger pieces instead of competing with them for space.

Sunflower seeds are in every bar we make - Original, Triple C, Vegan, Holiday, and the Crumble.
